Other Examples of Material Handling Equipment

  • Overhead Monorail

The overhead monorail enable goods (raw material, work-in-progress and/or finished goods) to be transported between storage buffers and workstations. It can be configured as a single-vehicle bi-directional shuttle or with single or multiple vehicles in a continuous loop, transporting loads up to 66 and 110 lbs. Furthermore, it is fast, quiet and saves floor space as the system is attached to the ceiling.

With the implementation of such systems, it solved the problems on limited floor space, limited capacity and productivity, poor accessibility of inventory, ergonomics aspects, disjointed operations and labor.

  • Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV)

The Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) is a safe, reliable and efficient alternative to forklift for moving loads of all sizes. AGVs are available in tape, wire, and laser guidance configurations for maximum layout flexibility, and their 90ยบ crabbing capability saves floor space. It is able to transport totes from 220 to 550 lbs., as well as pallets up to 6,600 lbs.

The system capacity can be increased with the additions of vehicles. In addition, AVG allows tracking of individual loads from pickup to delivery. Moreover, it operates on a permanent 10-year battery, eliminating the need to charge the battery.
